New Series Launch

A new series, “MSD (Mori Shigeo Deforme) Collection,” has started by Mori Shigeo, who has been working as ENKA VINYL’s main sculptor since the beginning of the brand.
This series represents his lifetime work. Based on his past ceramic pieces, the works are produced by ENKA VINYL as Giant-size sofvi. The first release is based on his Godzilla 1989 piece, originally shown at his solo exhibition in 2024.

Mold

Mold is handled by Dennis of Shirahama Toy. It uses a double-layer marble mold in cream and black.
The balance between cream and black was adjusted many times, reflecting Dennis’s careful work. The realistic sculpt by Mori Shigeo is further emphasized by this marble effect.
It also recreates the unique look of ceramic clay flowing downward, expressed here in sofvi form.

Painting

The rich details created by the marble mold are tightened with a controlled paint approach. Black, silver, and a very small amount of gunmetal are applied with spray, while the claws and teeth are hand-painted in cream. The simple color scheme is designed to keep the beauty of the marble mold.
Painting is done by Kenth Toy Works. By spraying only the outer edges of the dorsal fins, a subtle and natural gradient is created.
